Emojis have become more common than traditional punctuation in most messages sent by younger generations and are starting to be widely adopted by marketers in emails and social media posts.

The correct use of emoji is down to interpretation with the most suitable use highly dependent on the audience. A smiley emoji would likely be appreciated by the audience of a summer festival but would look somewhat out of place in an email update from a wealth manager.
